The Ukrainian hotels face the problematic sales.

They need to sell their services all year round and not only during the high season, they need to sell the “dead” rooms, they need group sales and not just a flow of individual clients.

The Ukrainian travelers face the problem of small budget for a trip and a problem of absence of choice. The choice is reduced to 2 options:

  • “this is a great room but it’s too expensive”, or
  • “this is an affordable room but it’s not Ok”.

Nobody offered a really complete and wide assortment between these two extremes to a Ukrainian client.

UHBS brings the hotels closer to the solution of the sales problem, and a client – to a solution of a problem of choice. This solution is the Auction System.

UHBS gives a client an ample choice and brings to the hotels the standard and unconventional sales channels.

Our program installed at a hotel’s computer gives the hotel an opportunity to put available rooms on sale in the real-time mode using simultaneously all the sales channels at different costs:

  1. Internet. Our portal of direct hotel booking in the booking system “Hlib-Sil’” x-s.com.ua and a backup booking site hlibsil.com.ua as well as hundreds of other Internet sites will offer booking service to all users. We will place this service to all comers at their sites. Internet users are mostly individual users, or a company of friends, or a family going through Ukraine on their holidays.
  2. Corporate Clients. The corporate clients who install our program at their offices will see the available rooms at the hotels at their special corporate prices and will book them in our system using the real-time mode. This channel gives an opportunity for a hotel to accommodate a business auditory during all working days. This is also a stable channel of receiving group orders.
  3. Tour companies. The tour agencies who install our program in their offices will see the availability of rooms in the hotels and book them in the real-time mode. This channel gives the opportunity to a hotel to accommodate clients of all tour companies throughout Ukraine. They are Ukrainian and foreign tourists as well as corporate clients of tour companies. Also, it is a stable channel of receiving group requests from tour agencies.
  4. International booking systems. If desired, the hotel can get all its rooms available and put for sale shown up in various international booking systems GDS (for example, Galileo, Amadeus) and ADS (HRS.com, Hotel.de etc.). GDS users are 650,000 tour companies throughout the world. ADS users are hundreds of Internet sites functioning as booking systems for individual users with credit cards.
  5. The most innovative sales channel is the self-service terminals already placed at all the territory of Ukraine by different companies. We own a patent for this sales channel. By the end of 2009 we expect connecting our service “Khlib-Sil’” to more than 10,000 terminals throughout Ukraine. Terminals are used by people who are not accustomed to use credit cards but are ready to book hotel rooms using cash. This is a perfect alternative to the Internet service.

This sales channel gives an opportunity to the Ukrainian hotels to be present in the service of personal accounts for Russian users of terminals (http://qiwi.ru/). There are more than 90,000 on the territory of Russian Federation. This technology will let the Ukrainian hotels eventually enter the segment of electronic sales of the markets of most CIS countries.

The project “Hlib-Sil’” is a booking system for travelers.

With a help of a payment terminal any traveler will:
a. see an illustrated list of hotels in any city and town of Ukraine;
b. see if a room chosen by him is available or not;
c. see at which official price the hotel is offering this room at this moment;
d. book this room at a 5% discount;
e. pays the advance payment for the room with the help of a payment terminal; and
f. receive a receipt from the terminal that is an accommodation voucher for the prepaid room.

You will be able to book rooms in the Ukrainian hotels and make advance payments for them with the help of payment terminals.



Any payment terminal will:
a. show the official room prices;
b. show the availability of room at a hotel or a camp; and
c. allow to book the available rooms at a 5% discount from an official price.

IDEAS// A new market of electronic sales of hotel services is being set up in Ukraine. With this purpose, a new UHBS project starts up in May-June this year – the Ukrainian Hotel Booking System. This project will make the accommodation in the Ukrainian hotels more affordable, and the booking process - fast and easy.

The point of this project is the service of booking and advance payment for hotel rooms with the help of payment terminals. The market of terminals is rather young but it grows very fast. Its scope surely encourages – 16,000 terminals throughout the country. At present you can not only refill your mobile account but also pay a bank credit, pay for Internet and communal services, order cosmetics. Next year it will be possible to buy train tickets with the help of terminals.

At the press-conference the Project Director of New Standard of Business Travel informed that this year, May-June, the company is going to launch the Ukrainian Hotel Booking System (with the help of payment terminals). As per his words, in May-June the company intends to connect 6 thousands terminals to the electronic sales system (in all, there are more than 16 thousand terminals in Ukraine).

As Minenko explained, with the help of a payment terminal individual and corporate clients will be able to find, book and pay for the hotel accommodation service throughout Ukraine with the help of both credit cards (simultaneously with the launch of this service in terminals, a web-site of this project will appear in Internet) and cash. The advance payment is 10% from the amount for accommodation.

Minenko also mentioned that the company database contains more than 2,3 thousand hotels out from more than 2,5 thousand existing in Ukraine. By autumn 2009 with the help of acquiring 50-60 regional partners (travel agencies) it is planned to enter the information about approximately 800 hotels into the network.
